Széchenyi Baths Tickets: Which One Should You Buy?

Updated October 13, 2026 · 5 min read

For most visitors the plain full-day ticket is the right one: Széchenyi Spa Tickets with Optional Upgrades, from €39 per person. It opens the indoor and outdoor pools, comes with a locker or a cabin depending on the option you pick, and can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before. Pay more only for a specific reason: a quiet morning, a shorter queue, a lounge, or a late-night party.

Locker or cabin

Both are in the standard listing as options. A cabin pays off when you share it: one reviewer split a cabin between three friends and found it convenient for belongings. The bath’s own price list charges 1,000 Ft extra for a cabin on top of its daily ticket, so ask what the option on your date adds.

Morning, evening and the opening hours

The listing sells morning tickets and Friday-evening tickets that only admit you within the hours stated in the option. The reason is the schedule: according to the bath’s own site it is open Monday to Thursday 7 am–8 pm, Friday 7 am–10 pm and at weekends 8 am–8 pm. Pools, saunas and steam rooms close 20 minutes before the bath itself. The same site sells a “Good Morning Budapest” ticket, with entry until 9 am, at 10,500 Ft on weekdays against 13,200 Ft for the standard weekday ticket.

One reviewer wrote: “We had the morning ticket and it was so quiet!” Another recommended arriving early to get a sunbed outside on sunny days. If crowds bother you, an early slot does more than any upgrade.

Is the fast track worth it?

Rarely at this price. On the bath’s own site the fast-track ticket is sold online only and costs 15,200 Ft on weekdays and 16,800 Ft on Fridays and weekends, which is 2,000 Ft more than the daily ticket there. The €59 listing carries 10 reviews, so there is little evidence of how it works in practice. Check the bath’s own price before paying a premium, and consider an early slot first.

The Palm House pass

The listing includes a full-day ticket with access to a relaxation area and a cabin, a bathrobe and towel, disposable slippers and a swimming cap, one cocktail, unlimited mineral water and a fruit bowl. It is a lounge package. Towels, caps and robes are not rented at the bath; it sells them (a towel was listed at 6,900 Ft and a swim cap at 2,100 Ft), so part of the €110 replaces things you would otherwise buy. It suits a special occasion, not a standard visit.

Rules that decide the day

  • Children under 14 are not admitted. The listing states it, and so does the fast-track listing. Families with younger children need a different bath: see the other thermal baths.
  • Bring your own towel, swimsuit and slippers. Slippers are mandatory, and the bath does not rent equipment.
  • Swim caps are required in the lap pool where the signs say so.
  • Swimsuits only: jeans, leggings and sportswear are not accepted in the pools, according to the fast-track listing.

Sparty is a party, not a soak

Sparty is for adults: guests under 18 are excluded. The ticket includes entry and a locker; the premium option adds drink coupons. Towels and flip-flops are not included, and drinks need reusable cups bought at 700 HUF, 350 HUF refunded on return. The meeting point is the venue itself, and the dates are shown in the booking form. Do not book Sparty if you want to relax; how it compares with the other late-night options is in party boat, pub crawl or Sparty.

The short version

Book the standard ticket, choose an early slot, take a cabin only if you share it, and pack a towel. Browse every option on the thermal baths page, or pair the day with a Danube cruise in the evening.
