Budapest Nightlife: Party Boat, Pub Crawl or Sparty?
Updated October 13, 2026 · 5 min read
For most groups the pub crawl is the right night out: the Pub Crawl & Ruin Bar Tour – Free Shots & VIP Entry is listed from €4, runs 5 to 5.5 hours and has 3,279 reviews at 4.9 stars. Pick the party cruise if you would rather dance on the Danube for two hours, and Sparty only if the idea of a night party in a thermal bath appeals. All three are for adults.

Pub crawl: the long, cheap and social option
The listing includes English-speaking guides, free welcome shots at every venue, digital photos and VIP entry to four places named in it: Instant-Fogas, Füge Udvar, La Siesta and Humbak. Food is not included, and the listing says nothing of drinks beyond the shots. The €4 is the starting price of the cheapest option, so read the option names in the date picker before you pay. There are two meeting points, depending on the option.
Two points the operators repeat. The listing says drinking in public is illegal, so keep your drink inside the venues, and noise in the streets between bars can lead to fines. Another operator’s listing, Strangers-to-Friends Ruin Pub Crawl, puts fines at up to 400 euros and says guests who arrive visibly drunk will not be allowed to join. The crawl is a 5 to 6 hour commitment with drinking games, so it suits groups that like that; it is a long night for anyone who wants conversation.
Other crawls are similar. The Ruin Bars Pub Crawl with Free Shots & VIP Entry lasts about 5 hours and has a perfect 5.0 from 1,337 reviews. The #1 Nightlife Pub Crawl costs €19 and lists entrance fees as included.
Party cruise: two hours with a DJ
The cruise lasts two hours on the Danube with a live DJ, a photographer, free water and a free cloakroom. Unlimited standard drinks, a box meal and an after-party entry with a party bus to Morrisons 2 each depend on the option you select. Last entry is 15 minutes after the stated start; arrivals who look intoxicated can be refused without a refund. The listing says it runs in almost all weather conditions and part of the boat is outdoors, so dress for it.
It is the most contained of the three. Its rating of 4.1 is also the lowest, so read the recent reviews on the booking page. If you want drinks without the dancing, the unlimited drinks cruises run on the same river in a calmer mood.
Sparty: a party in swimwear
Sparty takes place at the Széchenyi baths late in the evening. The ticket includes entry and a locker; the premium option includes drink coupons, and towels and flip-flops are extra. Drinks are bought on a prepaid card with reusable cups at 700 HUF, with 350 HUF refunded per returned cup, for up to four cups per card. The dates are given in the booking form, and the listing lists children under 18 and large bags as excluded. It is the most expensive of the three at €73. Before you decide, read how the baths work in Széchenyi tickets compared.
How to choose
- A group that wants to meet people and see several bars: the pub crawl.
- A short, scheduled night with a view: the party cruise.
- A quirky one-off in a thermal bath: Sparty, booked on the right date.
- A quieter evening: a thermal bath or one of the concerts and shows.
All crawls and bar tours are in the pub crawl and ruin bar category.
