Budapest Parliament Tickets: Audio Guide or Guided Tour?
Updated October 13, 2026 · 5 min read
For most visitors, the Parliament Building Entry Ticket and Audio Guide is the one to book: €42.99 per person, 6,279 reviews, 4.5 stars. It includes the entry ticket, a 45-minute visit inside with an audio guide, and a second audio tour of Kossuth Square outside. Choose another ticket only if you speak Spanish and want a live guide, or if you also want St. Stephen’s Basilica in the same booking.

What the standard ticket gets you
The listing describes a 15-minute check-in with security, then a 45-minute visit with a multilingual audio guide that is handed out inside. The route passes the Main Staircase, the Assembly Hall and the Hall of the Dome. The outdoor audio tour covers Kossuth Square and its monuments before you go in. The audio guide is available in more than twenty languages, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish among them; for the outdoor audio tour the description names only English, Italian and Spanish. Bring a passport or ID card; the listing asks for it.
There is no live guide on this ticket, and it does not include a transfer. If you want someone to answer questions, the Spanish tour is the only guided option in this comparison that goes inside.
How early to book
The Parliament is a working building. One reviewer of the audio-guide ticket could not get regular tickets and booked this one as a replacement, which suggests slots do run out. Another, on the Basilica combo, found the Parliament closed to visitors on the morning of the tour; the provider rescheduled everyone. A different reviewer on the same product was moved by 30 minutes because of an event in the building.
So: book as soon as your dates are fixed, and do not make the Parliament the only plan for your last morning. The tickets cancel free up to 24 hours before, which makes an early booking cheap insurance.
EU and non-EU prices differ
Entry to the Parliament is priced differently for EU and non-EU citizens. The Spanish tour’s listing says so directly: “Non-EU citizens will pay a different price”. One reviewer of the audio-guide ticket noted it was expensive because they were not from the EU. Read the option names when you pick your date and have your passport or ID ready, because the guides on the Spanish tour take it to buy the ticket for you.
The Spanish guided tour
You meet next to the Imre Nagy statue on Jászai Mari tér. The guide takes the group along the river façade and past Margaret Bridge, then you enter and follow an audio guide. It lasts 135 minutes and the listing counts Spanish for both guide and audio. It is a good choice for a Spanish-speaking family that wants context outside as well as inside.
The Basilica combo
The Parliament visit is a fixed time of about one hour. The listing gives the Parliament Visitor Centre at Kossuth Lajos tér 1 as the location; be there before the fixed time. The St. Stephen’s Basilica ticket is self-guided, valid for the whole day and includes the treasury and the panoramic terrace. Bought separately, the audio-guide ticket plus a Basilica entry from €12 comes to roughly €55, so the €89 is a convenience price: one voucher, one confirmation message, no second booking.
The cheaper alternatives
The €17 walk visits the Parliament from the outside only: the listing says plainly that entry tickets are not included. A Parliament cruise shows you the façade from the river, from €12. If you want to see the building from inside, neither replaces a ticket. For the Pest-side highlights and the castle, see the walking tours and the attraction tickets.
